Since there will be no meeting in July, we had to make the August General Meeting extra special, and I believe we're going to deliver on that promise.

Richard Kimball of Votesmart.org is traveling far and wide with their presentation called "Facts Matter" and we are fortunate to host this hour-long presentation. This will be in addition to the standard EDP meeting agenda.

Here's what will be covered in this hour-long presentation: 

1. A brief history of Founding Father intent regarding an informed electorate.

2.The increasing trend of candidates to move people emotionally instead of intellectually, shown through studies and historically significant commercials that helped stimulate this trend).

3. Demonstrating the means to defend each citizen's right to easily access, accurate, abundant, relevant information about a candidate on the issue/s each user decides is important (demonstrations of Vote Smart's free website research tools).

4. The crucial battle: facts, truth and reality vs. manipulation, distortion and "fake news."

This requires every Thinking American. But the creation of this kind of Voter's Self-Defense System is the crucial challenge to our generation and it must be built with such errorless accuracy that every frustrated right wing conservative and left wing liberal can turn to it with absolute confidence.
