The EDP general meeting in August will focus on how we can listen to and hear what others are saying about public issues, and ways for us to speak so that we are heard.

Heard at a recent EDP meeting: “I don’t even want to talk to the other side.”

Well, we gotta. Why? Because WE HAVE TO WIN in 2020. The White House. The House. The Senate. CD 04. And, after we win, we must lead the reconciliation that will be necessary to heal our divided country.

Our general meeting in August will focus on how we can listen to and hear what other people are saying about public issues, and ways for us to speak so that we are heard. We will learn how to hear what underlies their concerns and how best to address those concerns. It will be a participatory meeting.

We will never be in complete agreement with many other people (think about it--we’re not in complete agreement among ourselves!), but all of us can learn to express our thoughts in ways that are heard and considered by those who disagree with us.

Come prepared to participate and reflect on your own communication style.
